DESIGN I: Color
Section 1: 10:00-12:30PM

Duration: 4 weeks
Class discusses the physics of light and psychophysiology of the visual system
and color perception. Also presents color harmony, coordination & interaction,and
color proportions. Students will design, execute and present garment color
schemes.
Prerequisites: Fashion Illustration I, II

DESIGN II: Line & Proportion

Duration: 4 weeks
Figure proportions and silhouettes can be changed through the use of design
lines and proportion to create a more pleasing illusion. This class presents
the design principles of proportion, harmony, rhythm, balance and emphasis.

DESIGN III: Texture

Duration: 4 weeks
The texture of a material may make a design either becoming or not through
its interaction with both color and line & proportion. this class presents
the design principles, proportion, rhythm, balance, and emphasis applied to
texture. Topics also include texture identification, traditional texture/garment
combinations and transparency effects. Students will design, execute and present
garment texture schemes.
Prerequisite: Fashion Illustration I, II

DESIGN IV: Aesthetics
Section 1: 10:00-12:30PM

Duration: 4 weeks
Aesthetics reviews the design principles of color, line & proportion,
and texture, synthesizing them into a whole. An analytical model of esthetics
is presented which students use to develop an esthetic appreciation of their
own and other's work.
Prerequisite: Design I, II, III

DESIGN V: Detail Appreciation
(1) Saturday, 10:00-3:00PM
This class presents a visual introduction to the
art and mystery of surface and intergral decoration
as applied to fine garment making. Its goal is to
foster a sense of craftsmanshiplike pride and achievement
- by students in their own work.

CAD (computer aided deisgn) I: Drawing Techniques

This class presents the basic techniques used in putting together flat sketches for spec packages using Adobe Illustrator.
MAXIMUM ENROLLMENT: 5 students per section.

CAD II: Garments

This class builds upon the techniques used in putting together complete flat sketches of garments for spec packages using Adobe Illustrator.
