FASHION ILLUSTRATION I: Basic
Section 1: 10:00-12:30PM

Class Duration: 4 weeks
This basic drawing class develops the skills necessary
to draw a fashion figure and covers fundamental
techniques and technical information for students
who want to design apparel and illustrate designs
for customers. The study includes proportion and
scale as it relates to the human body. The student
learns how to draw figures in motion and develops
clothing details including ruffles, gathers, tucks,
and other garment features. No art background is
necessary.

FASHION ILLUSTRATION II: Intermediate

Class Duration: 4 weeks
This class is a continuation of Fashion Illustration
I. Students learn to change figure proportions and
poses, and to draw more and other garment details
as well as other garment types.

FASHION
ILLUSTRATION III: Watercolor

Class Duration: 4 weeks
This is a continuation of fashion illustration using
watercolors, color markers, and color pencils.
Prerequisite: Fashion Illustration I and II.

FASHION ILLUSTRATION
IV: Charcoal, Faces
1 Saturday: 10:00AM-3:00PM
Class Duration: 1 day
This intermediate drawing class allows the student
a chance to develop the skills of shading and texturing
with the use of charcoal. The focus will be on faces.
Prerequisite: Fashion Illustration I.

FASHION ILLUSTRATION
V: Charcoal, Self-Portrait
1 Saturday: 10:00AM-3:00PM
Duration: 1 day
In this advanced drawing class students will use
their charcoal drawing skills to render a life-size
self portrait.
Prerequisite: Fashion Illustration I IV.
MAXIMUM ENROLLMENT: 5 students per section.

FASHION ILLUSTRATION
VI: Flat Specification Sketch
Section 1: 10:00-12:30PM
Section 2: 6:00-8:30PM
Duration: 4 weeks
Students learn to draw garments as if laid out
flat to study shape and construction details. Emphasis
is given to clearly and accurately render the silhouette
and construction details. Additional emphasis is
given to the adding of measurements to the "flat"
thus transforming it to the "spec" drawing.
Prerequisite: Fashion Illustration I.

FASHION ILLUSTRATION
VII: Fast Draw
1 Saturday: 10:00AM-3:00PM
Duration: 1 day
This advanced class allows the student to develop
the skills necessary to render an accurate technical
illustration of a garment after only a very brief
visual exposure. Students are taught to focus on
silhouette, proportion, texture, and focal features.
Prerequisite: Fashion Illustration I, II.

FASHION ILLUSTRATION
VIII: Layout
1 Saturday: 10:00AM-3:00PM
Duration: 1 day
Students learn the principles of layout, such as
pre-eminence, perspective, formal and informal balance,
formulti-subject fashion illustrations or photographs
used in advertising or presentations.
Prerequisite: Fashion Illustration I, II.
